Jay Odom founded Crystal Beach Development and embarked on the first of many residential developments in Destin’s Crystal Beach area, with the groundbreaking Water’s Edge project. Its success keyed a series of meticulously planned, successful residential developments, which expanded to the Biloxi/Gulfport area of Mississippi and to his amazing 3000+ acres in Freeport, Florida called Hammock Bay.
Mr. Odom has diversified into the commercial real estate business by creating a corporate structure to take projects from the planning and permit stage, through design, construction/renovation, finance, marketing, sales and leasing. The organization has carried out a wide variety of development projects. Crystal Beach Development’s residential/resort projects have been the best-selling developments in the Okaloosa and Walton Counties in Florida. Mr. Odom has constructed and marketed over 1000 residential lots, including over 3,500 linear feet of Gulf front property. His commercial development has had several national tenants, defense contractors, churches, local governmental entities, and small businesses. Mr. Odom has purchased, constructed and managed over 200,000 square feet of commercial office space, 35,000 square feet of office/warehouse space, and 300,000 square feet of retail space and in the near future has plans for a first-class hotel on 7 + acres in Grayton Beach, Florida.
Okaloosa County, Florida awarded Mr Odom the bid to design, construct manage and operate a new Fixed Base Operation on 4 acres at the Destin Airport named Destin Jet, LLC.
